Clinical directors

Richard Stringer
BVSC MRVCS
Clinical Director and Veterinary Surgeon
Richard graduated from Liverpool University Vet School in 2004 and spent several years working in mixed practice in Devon, before deciding he wanted to pursue an equine career and founding Stringer Equine in 2009. He has a particular interest in equine reproduction and lameness, keeping sports horses running and investigating poor performance.
Vet team

Enrico Tegazzin
DVM MRCVS
Veterinary Surgeon
After graduating from Padua University in 2014, Enrico completed an internship at Dubai Equine Hospital. He has also worked in his own ambulatory practice in Italy and completed an internship in equine podiatry at Auburn University in Alabama. He joined us in 2018 and has a particular interest in lameness.

Harriet Ward
Veterinary Surgeon
Harriet graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2021, before returning to the southwest to begin her career as an equine vet. Outside of work, she spends most of her time exploring the outdoors with her dogs, Devon and Aruba, paddleboarding and riding her horses, Dee and Uly.

Florence Jenkins
Veterinary Surgeon
Flo moved down to Devon from Oxfordshire after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in 2023. Prior to this, she studied animal science at the University of Nottingham. She enjoys spending her free time outdoors – you’ll frequently find her out exploring on the moors, learning to surf or gardening.

Technicians

Kathryn Huson
Veterinary Technician
Before joining our practice, Kat studied animal science and worked as a research scientist, after gaining her PhD from Aberystwyth University in 2017. She has training in parasitology and microbiology among other lab skills, which she is now putting to use managing our in-house laboratory. She also looks after our diagnostic equipment and pharmacy, and you might meet her assisting vets with different procedures during appointments. Away from work, Kat’s mare Cadi keeps her busy. They enjoy competing locally and exploring the Devon countryside and beaches.
In the office

Angela Rankin
Receptionist
Angela was drafted in at short notice to help Richard out in 2010 – and is still here! She is an island of calm in our busy office, and having survived many stud seasons can probably cope with anything. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, helping her daughter with her horse, Veeto, and going on very long walks with her dog, Mila.

Phillippa
Receptionist
Phillippa joined us as a part-time member of the team in 2018. She is also an artist who studied at Camberwell College of Arts and enriches the office with her doodles. Outside work, she enjoys drawing, painting, knitting and riding her horse.

Suzanne Mead-Goddard
Deputy Practice Manager
Suzanne joined the team in 2012, appearing as if by magic when the Whiddon Down office opened. She has always had a keen interest in horses, gaining her BHS ISM and Equine HND, and was an equine lecturer and tutor at Bicton College for six years.
